Hi Parents,

Welcome to the 2025 Summer Swim Team season.  Unfortunately I have to start out with a bit of bad news.  The pool resurfacing project at Treehouse is running 1 week behind.  They are anticipating opening the pool on June 6 or 7 so we will not begin practices until Monday, June 9.  Fortunately, this season is already 1 week longer than it was last year (we will go through August 9th) so we haven't lost any time compared to previous years.  

I would like to welcome back Coach Sam to the team this year.  Sam coached with us last summer and has worked with the Wasatch Front Fish Market year round team since May of 2024.  I would also like to introduce Coach Adessa to everyone.  Adessa is a member of the Western Colorado University Women's Swim Team where she is studying Elementary Education.  She is also a long time member of the Wasatch Front Fish Market and is excited to share her knowledge with your swimmers.  

If you have not downloaded the Swimtopia app please consider doing that.  The app will allow you to declare your swimmers to participate in meets or opt out of others.  This is useful for coaches so that we know who is available and planning to attend the meets.  I would encourage EVERYONE to participate in the swim meets.  Not participating is like going to school and not taking a test.  It helps the coaches know what needs more work and it also allows your swimmers to flourish in controlled environments under manageable amounts of stress.  Best of all, swim meets are where your swimmers will bond with each other and create fun, meaningful, friendships and this elevates everyone's experience. 

If you have not picked up gear yet, we will have that available on Monday, June 9.  I will be at the pool at 9:30am to start giving gear out to J2 swimmers.  Please come early to practice that day so that we can get swimmers sized for suits, fins and get swim caps delivered.  J1 swimmers can begin showing up at 10:30 to receive their gear.

We will need and expect parents to help volunteer at meets this summer.  Being a part of the action is fun and helps you witness some of the special moments of young people in competition.  You see the smiles, the high fives and hear the "good jobs" after a race.  You also hear some of the nervous chatter and get to offer a calming remark that helps a young person through a challenging moment.  Who could hate that?  Please login to treehouse.swimtopia.com to check out the meet schedule, view coach bios and update any contact information.  Please make sure your swimmer's t shirt size is somewhere on your profile.  We will have t shirts delivered before the first meet!
